My flight was at 6:10 AM on Sunday. On the one hand, I planned it this way on purpose because the flight was long, plus there was a three-hour time difference. I had to calculate it all so that I could go for a walk in Manhattan in the evening. I set two alarms so I wouldn’t oversleep, and even set the coffee machine alarm, since I usually wake up from the strong aroma of coffee.
Sweet, funny, joyful, wonderful, sunny, gentle, strict, sad, delicate, emotional – that’s my mom. I don’t remember her being bad at all.
The film was released in 2006. Its unusually unremarkable title hardly captures the essence of the movie. At first, I thought I could compare it to something I had seen before, but then I realized that comparisons are futile.
Stop carrying the longing for communication. I no longer speak of longing for closeness. Stop. That’s it. Forget it. There is no such thing as longing. And even though we all live in a world of people, it is completely normal to enjoy only your own company.
It all happened very quickly. Riku was lucky. He wasn't just the first, he was the first American man I’d interacted with “romantically” after Adam. Actually, I had responded to his ad. He had a nice face.
I have heard different opinions that sometimes we may experience different (meaning more advanced) levels of awareness when our mind is altered by various substances. For sure, we can get interesting experiences under influence, but will those experiences really help us achieve new levels of awareness?
Some of us are really lucky to have self-aware parents. It’s a blessing to be raised by people who never tried to overcompensate for their unhappy lives by putting you down as a kid… I don’t blame anybody, we are all human beings, we do mess up, it is natural. However, a lot of times lack of awareness in our parents (and lack of our own awareness for that matter!) leads to difficulties in relationships and separation.
I might not be old enough to give life advice, but I am 40 enough to underline and summarize all of the years of observing beautiful women, as well as watching and analyzing my own changes in the beauty department.
