It’s a state that has no color or variation. There’s no imprint of what caused this happiness. Whether you ate an ice cream cone or got an A on an exam — sure, the reasons are different, but the happiness itself is exactly the same. Absolutely.

We are just as happy after a great workout as we are after great sex, just as happy winning big in the lottery as finding a ten-dollar bill on the street.
Of course, everything gets colored by the circumstances that came before and after, I’m not denying that. But happiness itself — the pure state — is always the same.

Everything that “colors” happiness this way or that is simply an illusion, imposed by our own perception of how important this or that cause of happiness is supposed to be.
And so, for different people, the reasons for happiness might differ, but happiness itself — is always the same.

It all depends entirely on how we look at things.
Because, in truth, the most important thing is to be happy.
And it doesn’t really matter what causes it.
The importance we assign to the reasons for our happiness — that’s just 100% ego and whims.

Yes, of course, I’m not denying that on a purely physiological level, we all have different needs and appetites. But still — I spent most of my life believing that my ability to be happy depended on constant access to connection with men, on all possible levels — which now feels about as ridiculous as believing that my happiness depends on constant access to tiramisu cake.
As if there aren’t plenty of other delicious foods in the world!

As if there aren’t countless other beautiful things in life that can bring happiness.

And please — don’t start with, “But to be truly full, it has to be tiramisu!”
Sure, maybe I have slightly higher-than-average needs when it comes to satisfying certain physiological desires — but what does that have to do with tantra?
