It was a dark and cold night. A small group of people - perhaps around 10 including myself, were locked down in a one story building. The building was surrounded by wolves. Although the building was small, there were many rooms - it was sort of a convenience store at a gas station with a live-in quarters, where I assumed the building service worker could live with their family.
I was sitting with some guy. The time felt very strange: everyone’s sensory abilities had heightened. This guy suddenly declared that we were going to try to have a child together. I didn’t really know him, but he showed me a piece of paper that said the same thing – that we were going to try to have a child together. But that didn’t mean that we would have a child together. Especially with the arrival of my father’s relatives…
I dreamed of a terrifying orgy, a mind-reading machine (and it worked!), and Agapova pushing a girl in red off the balcony from the 11th floor. But the girl didn’t die — she shouted up at us from the ground, telling us we’d be held accountable. I was scolding Agapova, then went to get checked by a doctor, who prescribed me a ton of colorful pills that had to be taken strictly lying down with my head turned sideways.
So, it was a room. It seemed like a hotel room, but also like a regular apartment in a residential building. We went in together, and there was some sort of distorted reality: anyone who stayed there for too long would shift into what seemed like a parallel world. For some reason, I ran out of the apartment, though I’m not sure why. But the person with me—maybe it was a woman, or perhaps another version of myself, or my mother—stayed behind and was transported.
If, on a bleak evening four days before Christmas, someone had wandered into this gloomy, seldom-visited dead-end in New York, grandly named Stellar, they wouldn't have believed their eyes. Because they would have seen a fragile girl, quite literally fluttering above the icy asphalt, occasionally brushing the ground with the tiny tips of her toes.
I was walking past that small shopping complex in Moscow, where we always used to buy groceries on our way home from the metro. But this time, I was walking in the opposite direction, toward the metro. And as I was walking, I saw this scene... I
I was in some office, for some reason with my mom (she's been appearing in my dreams quite often lately; her birthday is approaching. She would have been 77 this year). Suddenly everyone started running around, saying something like an apocalypse was happening and we needed to get to the bunker.
Well, really, like in a TV show, we were sliding between parallel realities. We slid really well. There was a group of us, actually a bit bigger than in the show. A few people.
Tanya and I were floating along some beautiful shores in what seemed like a ship, or maybe a submarine. We got off onto a platform – a local boat promenade – to walk around, and suddenly, the platform and the boat started sinking.
Somehow, I ended up in an apartment with a family. At first — by accident. It's hard to say now what led me there, but I left soon after.
