Life is empty and meaningless. Meanings are invented by ourselves. And only what has passed the test of objective factors—space, time, and continuity—is considered real. EVERYTHING else (which can only be subjectively tested for reality)—feelings, forecasts, fears, hopes, anxieties—is deemed unreal
Survival
Almost constant worry – about various issues: whether there will be enough money, whether the spouse will leave, whether the spouse will cheat, whether the children will get sick, whether I will start aging earlier, whether I will be perceived as ugly, whether I will gain weight, whether I will lose potency, whether I will be fired, whether I will recoup my investment, whether my partner will back out of the deal, whether there will be a bad harvest, whether the oil price will spike…
A film starring Marisa Tomei and Vincent D’Onofrio.
Even though Marisa Tomei’s overly sweet, "cutesy" acting style is a little grating for me, the film turned out to be surprisingly pleasant.
I love its beautiful summer boulevards, smelling of wet linden trees – romantic, shaded – throwing flocks of warm sunbeams… I love the quiet parks with narrow paths, whispering golden, bronze, and ruby leaves.
I'm reading this amazing book by Joe Vitale Zero Limits. Joe is that guy from the movie The Secret who talked about being broke in Dallas for 15 years. And then, bam - suddenly became rich. Well, lots of other cool stuff happened to him too. But this book isn't about how he got rich.
About the contract... I think that in those realms where the decision about life’s conditions is made, the concept of a "contract" is inappropriate. But the idea that we make a choice — along with all the life circumstances — I also believe in that.
I believe that there are no "other halves" in romantic relationships. The only reason why masochistic people wander around the planet in proud solitude is their sacred belief that not just anyone will do for them, and that "such a person has not been born yet." The very definition of a woman or man as "someone’s dream" is a preconceived limitation of our possibilities in terms of the people we want to build relationships with.
Of course, I had to consider it from various aspects, practice, study it in depth, and test it practically at the deepest level - in my life, in communication with people, and in the business process, I had to break through several stumbling blocks.
Even the most beloved person is just a part of my vast, boundless world. To say that they are the entire world is to greatly narrow this limitless world to just one person, no matter how beloved they are.
Sometimes you meet good, cheerful taxi drivers who, most importantly, are endowed with the wisdom of the ages. 😉
This is the conversation I had recently:
– So, the Jews studied the women's problem.
– Oh, what women's problem? – I squeal joyfully, hoping to find out what this "women's problem" is.
– Well, it’s why women are so flighty, always looking to the side.
Sound of jaw dropping to the floor
– Who? Women? Are you sure you’re not confusing them with men?
– No, it’s definitely women who are like that.
I collect the remains of my jaw, putting it back in place.
– And what did these Jews conclude?
– Here’s what they figured out! – the taxi driver starts getting excited. – In order to keep a woman near you, you need to follow three conditions. First – you need to love her, worship her, and support her.
– Are these all three?
– No, that’s just one!
– I think those three might be enough in many cases, though I’d be happy if just one of those three conditions were sometimes followed…
– But there are two more! – the taxi driver says, upset.
– Well!!!
– The second is – you need to satisfy her. If you have what it takes, great; if not, figure it out. She needs to be satisfied.
– Well, that’s clear… And that alone could often help the situation.
Damn, if only men did something… Well? At least this...
– And the third – you have to hit her! But only if you follow the first two conditions. Otherwise, what happens is – people only happily follow the third condition, and that's why women are all over the place...
I deeply reflect on the meaning of life.
