I have been contemplating how to arrange things so that both love and pigeons, well, you know what I mean… I approached it from the perspective of the space of possibilities. As is known (I don't know about you, but for me – yes), we live in a space of possibilities – infinite ones – and we each choose from them according to our thoughts and feelings.
I’ve just started reading it, but already I’m trying to apply some of the ideas and experiences that Vitale shares at the beginning of his book. By the way, he talks about a doctor who treated mentally ill criminals without even talking to them, but only by reading their medical histories.
Love is not a feeling. It’s not something we experience as "beautiful yearning" or whatever else—hormonal surges? Desire, passion?! All of that is not love. It’s simply yearning, desire, passion, hormones, and so on. Mostly chemical states. Sometimes neurotic, depending on the degree of neglect.
The production of the happiness hormone is provoked by what’s called mindset – thoughts, in simple terms. That is, happiness is born in relation. This is a priori. What kind of relation is needed to be happy and for this happiness hormone to be produced?
Well, what can I say — of course, it’s a fairy tale and a bit grotesque. But still, it’s a very real, very human film about a woman who looks death straight in the face. In the movie, she is diagnosed with a terminal illness and given no more than two months to live.
Just when they get together and something may happen between them—it almost doesn't matter what that is—she is carefully listening. She may not even be aware of it, but she's listening to make sure his actions align with his words.
What is a revolution? It is the rebellion of a new regime against the old, aimed at reaching a new level. Something new is being born, but it is still subject to the “old” conditions. In order to break this vicious cycle and free itself from the influence, the “new” must rebel, reaching a level of intensity at which the old will either fall away by itself or burn in the fire of terror...
It's a bit strange how the meaning of the well-known phrase 'The road to hell is paved with good intentions' has been so twisted… Well, you can't possibly interpret it so literally! The essence of it is not that if you have good intentions, you'll inevitably end up in hell… And it's certainly not about how every good intention harbors a bunch of bad ones…
It’s worth remembering as often as possible that (so to speak) destructive thoughts like “What terrible traffic,” “No one loves me,” “I’m so sick,” work just as effectively as any constructive thoughts. They work even better when accompanied by strong emotions and sensations.
Actually, everything I'm going to write about has long been written and said many times in various forms. I won't say anything new for the world. But all of this is new to me. No, not that we can throw an order into the Universe and it will return as reality. What's new to me in this process is the amazing, unfamiliar sensation of realization at some deep level of how it actually works.
